He is NOT the reason why I've been hanging out a lot in that place lately but I have to admit that for a barista, he really looks good. And that was even before he sported this new haircut which makes him look younger than he is. Not that I know how old he is, really. We haven't exchanged that much intimate details. Yet.
"Chai tea latte, please," I told him. "Large."
He smiles a lot. On the spot, I realized he was a flirt. In my life, I haven't experienced getting that much attention from a good-looking stranger. And I hated him for exploiting my weakness.
I wasn't looking at him all the time he was preparing my drink so he had to call my attention when it was ready. I had my laptop with me at the time so I struggled a bit carrying the tray with the to-go cup.
"Let me," he offered. With a smile. When he smiles, his fabulous eyes become stunning.
I always drink whatever I ordered outdoors because I smoke but before I reached the door, he opened it for me. Simple things like that matter most to me, and although it's probably part of his job description to open doors for customers, it was the manner he did it that I appreciated more.
"Enjoy your drink," he said in a bit too friendly manner, once I was settled down. I just nodded in reply.
I was thinking of him when I lit my first cigarette, admitting to myself that he stuns me and then suddenly he was behind me, asking me if I needed an ashtray.
When he came back, he asked me how my drink was. I said it was okay although I haven't tasted a single drop yet since I was waiting for my drink to cool down a bit. He gave me this weird lingering look before leaving me with yet another smile. I noticed that he stayed outside a while but I shut off any further conversation by plugging in my earphones.
It was only then that I looked at my cup of tea and judging by the residue on the lid opening, somebody already had a taste of my drink, and I'm 100% certain that that wasn't me.
Restraining myself from looking at him, I put the cup to my lips and kissed him back.
It was scalding hot.
